About Us
Meet Our ReStore Manager
My name is Jonathan Wylie and I am the ReStore manager for the Southeastern Steuben County Habitat for Humanity (SESC HFH). I grew up in Steuben County (Corning, New York) and a graduate of Mansfield University.
I have always had the passion to help others. Now, as your local HFH ReStore manager, I believe that production of HFH homes in our community will only increase with our local ReStore raising money to build MORE HFH homes in our community. In addition, our local HFH ReStore will keep quality items out of land fills and make high quality items more affordable for our local community.
Please come visit our newly opened ReStore for bargains on useful materials and appliances. This store is perfect for renovators, house flippers, contractors, do-it yourselfers, collectors, and bargain shoppers.
Thanks for your support.
I look forward to meeting you at the SESC HFH ReStore!
Reuse, Recycle, ReStore!

Great stuff. Great prices. Great Cause! – ReStore!
ReStore History- Words from our SESC President
The ReStore is an idea whose time has come here in the Corning area.
SESC Habitat held highly successful Annual Yard Sales every year, each growing larger and larger. From this humble beginning, the idea of opening a small store where we could hold a year long “yard sale” grew. But the time never seemed right to start this venture.
Then as people became more aware of the waste of throwing out good “stuff” as well as the environmental impact, Habitat started receiving more donations of construction materials, both new and used. Donations poured in. What to do with all the stuff? Storage warehouses, garages, barns were packed with “stuff.”
And SESC Habitat was not alone in this dilemma. All across the nation Habitat affiliates were experiencing the same phenomena. And the idea of Habitat ReStores was born. Now there are over 500 such ReStores around the country, including the one here in Corning. The ReStore serves a valuable environmental purpose. By recycling reusable resources, the landfills are less burdened with objects that still have life left in them.
Great stuff. Great prices. Great Cause!
That describes the Habitat ReStore. The old saying that “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” fits this shopping experience. You never know what you will find at the ReStore! Everything from lumber and doors to kitchenware, household items and furniture. Everything except the kitchen sink – but wait – we have the kitchen sink! And bathroom sinks. And lighting fixtures and lamps. And tools and hardware. And windows and screens. And washers, dryers and stoves. And............

Goals - ReStore
- Generate cash flow to support Habitat's home building program in our area.
- Keep valuable materials out of local area landfills.
- Provide the community with a source of low cost building materials.
- Provide an opportunity to volunteer at Habitat ReStore.
How Does it Work?
- Habitat for Humanity accepts donations of new and saleable, used building materials such as cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, lumber, flooring, and windows.
- Some materials will be used to build Habitat houses. The rest will be sold to the public at 40-75% off the retail price.
- There are over 500 Habitat ReStores in the U.S and Canada.
- All items sold by ReStore are donated building materials and fixtures from individuals, building supply stores, business closeouts, contractors and demolition crews. Other donations such as quality used and display furniture and appliances in 100% working order are also sold.
- The net income is returned to our affiliate to help fund the construction of Habitat houses within the greater Southeastern Steuben County community.
