Habitat ReStore
You can now donate appliances, contsruction materials, plumbing fixtures and household goods to our local ReStore. It's a great way to recycle or handle surplus and receive a tax deduction as well.
There are many choices for where to spend your charitable dollars. When you support the Southeastern Steuben County Habitat for Humanity, you are investing in real, tangible changes for the people who live in your own neighborhood, helping to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness while improving the quality of life for the entire community. There are numerous opportunities to partner with our efforts to develop decent, affordable housing in Steuben County and the rest of the world:
Individuals
Individual contributions form the backbone of our efforts. Send your gifts to Southeastern Steuben County Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 800, Corning, NY 14830, join us for one of our community fundraising activities, or contact us at 607.936.4444.
Many people can multiply the power of their contributions via their employer’s matching gift programs. Obtain a Matching Gift Form from your employer, supply the required donor information, and send this along with your contribution.
While SESC Habitat for Humanity does not accept government funds and is not a United Way agency, many individuals designate part of their United Way contributions to our agency – contact your employer’s human resources department for further information.
Corporate
Promote your organization as a force in supporting equitable housing in your community. Contact us for information on sponsorship opportunities as well as teambuilding activities that can pull your employees together for a very worthwhile and satisfying cause.
Faith and Community
We are a Christian-based organization who welcomes volunteers and supporters from the community and religious groups of all faiths, and serves prospective homeowners in need without regard to religion, race or ethnic group. Your support, as well as your voice within your own congregation, form an important part of our efforts in our community.
School Groups
Student fundraising and volunteer efforts combine an interactive, fun social experience with the satisfaction of doing something really important for the place where you live. Contact us for more information on what we can do for student groups at your school.
Local Fundraising Efforts
Some of the fundraising events held locally in Steuben County include:
- The “Adopt-a-Panel” program where groups can sponsor a wall panel of a home being constructed for hurricane relief.
- Sponsoring materials for “Welcome Home Baskets” distributed by local real estate agents to new homeowners.
