About Us

Mission and Values

Volunteers at workAs an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical non-profit Christian housing ministry, the Southeastern Steuben County Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with them in seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness – both here in our local area, and worldwide through collaborative projects and shared financial support. We invite people of all backgrounds, races, religions, and ethnic groups to join us in our mission to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Our Mission Statement

Southeastern Steuben County Habitat for Humanity believes that all God’s people deserve a decent home.  We will work in partnership with people of our community to build affordable housing for low-income eligible families and to assist these families in their transition to home ownership.  In doing this, we seek to give witness to the Christian gospel to love our neighbors as ourselves in an environment of hope, dignity, and truly human existence for all people.  We will not discriminate on the basis of race, creed or ethnic background.
